Centenary Launch

On Friday 16 September 2016 St Andrew’s College officially launched the Centenary. On your left you can watch the Centenary film trailer. You can also watch the vintage newsreel and check out all the photos here.

Dedication of the Centennial Chapel

25 October 2016

The Centennial Chapel Dedication was held on Tuesday 25 October, with a large community gathering to mark this historic occasion. We enjoyed performances from the College’s kapa haka, choir, Pipe Band and renowned singers Joshua Pike and Mark Tavendale (OC 1987). Readings and poems were given by Head prefects and Head sacristan. The dedication was followed by a full chapel service led by the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church Right Rev. Andrew Norton. Louis Newman (Pipe Major) piped the recessional and the Pipe Band played as guests gathered outside after the service.

It was truly a magnificent occasion and wonderful to celebrate our new Chapel being at the heart of our community once again. Many of our Old Collegians who attended were at the dedication of the Memorial Chapel in 1955. They remarked how special it was that items from the Memorial Chapel have been so beautifully integrated into our new Chapel. We were also truly blessed with the wonderful weather.
